THIS IS WHY

"This is my Y.......My name is Samantha. 10 years ago I started my journey at the Northeast YMCA. I wanted to work for the YMCA because I wanted to be part of a community that strived to put health, wellness, family and community first. The YMCA has become my second family through the years and there is no other organization that I am more proud to be a part of.

Becoming a Registered Dietitian was a personal goal I wanted to achieve. My career goal was to work in Community Nutrition and Wellness Nutrition. When I started at the YMCA I worked with kids in an after school program teaching the basics and importance in overall health. I then got the opportunity to educate individuals that wanted to make lifestyle changes in a program called Y Lose It. I have a great passion in teaching how nutrition is the fuel that thrives us to a healthy and happier life. I love the people I work with and every day I get to make an impact in lives.

As a Registered Dietitian I also am able to work with those in our community that need basic education all the way to doctor prescribed guidance. The beauty of doing community nutrition is I get to take out the medical terms and educate in real life situations.  Helping others is a great passion for me and I get to do that working at the YMCA. Not only am I a part of a great community as a member I also work with a great team of employees that strive for the same goals I believe in.

I recommend becoming a part of this great wellness family as a member and an employee. Giving back to my community brings joy to my life and they give back just as much with the standards they follow."  - Samantha
